CVHS 9th grade email update for October 16th, 2009
General Info:
- Mrs. Matsu is sponsoring two summer international trips. Both trips are
currently accepting students and parents. The day you sign up locks
in the price. Prices will go up November 1.
- Fall Harvest Dance
When: Friday, October 30th
Where: cafegymalocketorium
Time: 7-11 pm
$3 before event - We will start selling tickets during lunch 2 weeks before
the event.
$5 at the door
- CVHS students only
- We want the students to wear their best costumes!
- There will be prizes, music, and much more!

- We will study Chapter 4.1—4.3 from Mon. to Wed.;
- The goals are to learn Triangle Sum Properties and to prove congruence
by SSS;
- Assignment for 4.1-4.3 are: (due by Friday)
4.1. #1-7, 10,13,16,19,20, 27,28,32-54 (even);
4.2. #1-4, 7-14, 22, 15-21, 24-34 (even);
4.3. # 1-4, 7,8,11,12, 14-32;
- Thursday has a review, including TAKS review P. 290;
- Friday has a quiz for 4.1-4.3.
- Geometry: In Mr Schenke’s class the warm-up work will be collected
each week and counted as a classwork/homework grade. Students are reminded
to bring the textbook to class each day except for testing days.
From Mr. Barnes (Algebra I):
- Project 1 (which was assigned 2 weeks ago) is due on Monday, October 19
by 8:30AM. Any project turned in after 8:30AM will be considered late and
subject to a 30 point late penalty.
- The last test of the grading cycle is on Wednesday, October 21. The test
review for this test is Monday night’s homework, and we will go over
it in class on Tuesday.
From Mr. Beall (Spanish I & II):
- Spanish I will finish Chap. 2 B on Monday. There will be a quiz over Chap.
2B on Tuesday. They will begin Chap. 3A on Wednesday. Readings and homeworks
will be assigned from pages 116 - 131. There will be a test over Chap. 2A
& B on Thursday.
- Spanish II will have a test over Chap. 1A & B on Monday. They will
then resume their studies of Chap. 2A. Readings and homeworks will be assigned
from pages 82 - 93. There will be a quiz over Chap. 2A on Thursday or Friday.
From Ms. Huffman (Latin):
- Latin 1 will have presentations on Thursday and Friday. Some students
need to complete Chapter 2 activities, and we are otherwise in Chapter 3
with the usual round of language practice tasks.
From Ms. Heno (French):
- French will review all material for the first 9 weeks and have a TEST
on Wednesday. French 2 will also review and have a TEST on Wednesday.
From Ms. Casperson (Debate):
- CURRENT EVENT ASSIGNMENT: Due every Friday
From Mr. Rodriguez (Art):
- First Year Art students will have a test on Tuesday, October 20.
