CVHS 9th grade email update for October 10th, 2008
General Info:
- All 9th graders will be going on a field trip to the Museum of Natural Science
on Wednesday, October 15th. Students must bring a sack lunch. There will be
no where for them to purchase a lunch.

- RECYCLING: Please bring all paper recycling (we only do paper) to school
and either drop it in the green and yellow dumpster in the back of the school
or ask your child to bring it to the dumpster or to Mrs. Matsu. In order to
keep our wonderful recycling dumpster, we have to hit our quota. Thanks for
helping us.
- Mrs. Matsu is sponsoring a 12 day trip to Australia and New Zealand
during July 2009. This will be her 6th trip with students and her 3rd trip
with students to Australia . If you are interested in this trip please see

Students, Parents, and siblings are welcome to join us. Prices go up on October
8, 2008. So if you are interested, please let me know, or sign up to lock

Reminders:
- Do your online quizzes! Last day is tomorrow. These quizzes will be pulled
down by evening and then new ones will go up.
- If you haven’t done so yet, start researching on your solar egg cookers.
Brainstorm with your partners (if applicable) and start gathering your materials.

the book plus some supplemental content)
From Mr. Smith (Spanish I):
- We will be hot and heavy into TPRing vocabulary ALL WEEK! Please encourage
you student to practice at home. The results of the Mandinga & mas test
were not what I expected.
- However, now they know what to expect from me. They all have the graded
test back and should still have it as I told them to keep it because some
of the questions they will see again.
From Mr. Falco (Spanish 2):
- Students will learn affirmative and negative words on Monday and will be
given a packet on chapter 2 of A Succinct History of Mexico. They
will have a quiz on Chapter 2 of A Succinct History of Mexico on
Friday. We will also review for their test of chapter 1A on Tuesday. Their
test for chapter 1A will be on Thursday. We will begin chapter 1B on Friday
From Ms. Huffman (Latin/Psychology/Yoga):
- Ms. Huffman will be out on Tuesday and Friday. Latin 1 will have the Stage
3 assessment this week.
From Ms. Heno (French):
- French 1 has a picture action project due next Friday.
- French 2 is writing a detective story which is due next Friday.

- Art I students will have their first unit test on Monday.
