CVHS 9th grade email update for September 26th, 2008
General Info:
- Mrs. Matsu is sponsoring a 12 day trip to Australia and New Zealand
during July 2009. This will be her 6th trip with students and her 3rd trip
with students to Australia . If you are interested in this trip please see

Students, Parents, and siblings are welcome to join us. Prices go up on
October 1, 2008. So if you are interested, please let me know, or sign up
to lock in the current price.
From Mrs. Bibeau (Theatre):

- Lesson plans will be posted on website late next week – dates will
need to be adjusted
From Mr. Swenson (World Geography):
- Peer editing on Thursday – students must have a hard copy of their
paper in class.
- Second Essay due Friday
From Ms. Bullis (English I):
- English I: Please have a copy of The Odyssey by Monday, 9/29
- Vocabulary quiz – Thursday, 10/2 (words are on the website).

From Mrs. Matsu (Biology):
- Students have no homework this weekend.
- Students will have most in class work next week including a video on Tuesday
with a video quiz on Wednesday.
- Lab next Friday (10/3) on microscopes.

From Ms. Alcoriza (IPC):
- M – Unit 2 test covering Chapters 2 and 3. Reviewer is also due
that day. (Should be downloaded thru the class website http://www.freewebs.com/planetamy/)
- T – Posters due. See p97 #20 for details. Make sure you get the
concepts right, and show me your creative side! Be prepared to show off
your work to class.
- W - Start of Unit 3 which covers chapters 4 thru 10. Go on! Read ahead!
From Mr. Li (Geometry):
- We will learn 2.3-2.5, and have a quiz for 2.1-2.5 on Friday, 10/03/08.
From Mr. Barnes (Algebra I):
- Homework will resume as normal on Monday. We picked up where we left
off before the hurricane with a bit of review too.
- Next week the students will have a quiz on Wednesday.
- They will be assigned the project for this grading cycle before the end
of next week as well.
- The test for this unit is now scheduled for the following week.
From Mr. Smith (Spanish I):
- The cumulative test scheduled for Friday, Pre-Ike, will be on Tuesday,
next week.
- Monday will be a quiz on La Bamba which we will finish today.
- Wednesday thru Friday will be just TPR and TPRs. .
From Mr. Falco (Spanish 2):
- They will have a quiz on Tuesday and another on Wednesday.
- We will begin Chapter 1 A of the textbook. We will also start reading
"A Succinct History of Mexico" to supplement the culture part
of the curriculum.
- Also, activities will be done in class to reinforce communication skills.
From Ms. Huffman (Latin/Psychology/Yoga):
- Latin 1 will review and preview upon returning to school. We will reboot directly into Stage 2 where we left off.
From Ms. Heno (French):
- French 2 will present orally and in writing Monsieur and Mademoiselle France project.
- French 1 will present their Francophone country project.
