OPEN HOUSE is at 7:00pm on Wednesday, September 17th. Please plan to attend.
Have a safe and restful Labor Day holiday on Monday (no school).
From Mrs. Bibeau (Theatre):
- Monday – continue reading Oedipus Rex in class and identify common
Greek elements (Prologue, Parados, Episode, Stasimon, Exodos as well as Hubris
and hamartia).
- Tuesday – finish reading Oedipus Rex in class and identify common
Greek elements (Prologue, Parados, Episode, Stasimon, Exodos as well as Hubris
and hamartia).
- Wednesday – discuss the theatricality of a Greek play; what would
an audience need to stay interested
- Thursday – Groups select scene and develop Greek masks for their
character
- Friday – perform scene with mask
From Mr. Swenson (World Geography):
- Thursday Sept 4th Peer Review for Essay on Globalization Bring draft to
class
- Friday Sept 5th Essay due on Globalization
- Tuesday Sept 9th Free Response and Map test Chapter 1
- Wednesday Sept 10 Multiple Choice test for Chapter 1

From Ms. Alcoriza (IPC):
- 9/2 – BRING YOUR BOOK to class! You will not be able to do the work
if you do no have one because sharing of books will not be allowed.
- 9/3 – Unit 1 Test. Study Chapter 1 and notes taken in class.
- 9/4 – Start of Unit 2.
- 9/5 – “Are You a Masterpiece” lab report is due. Make
sure that you follow the guidelines for lab write-ups.
- School supplies will be checked throughout the week.
From Mr. Li (Geometry):
- Learn 1.4 and 1.5 for measure & classify angles and describe angle
pairs.
- Friday, 09/05/08 has a quiz.
From Mr. Barnes (Algebra I):
- Students have nightly homework (Mon-Thurs) they should be completing (almost
all students have completed both assignments thus far)
- Quiz next Wednesday (9/3)
- Test the following week (tentatively Tuesday September 9 – this date
is on the syllabus as are all other test dates for the semester)
- First project will be assigned at the end of the 3rd week of school or
beginning of the 4th week of school and due 3 weeks later.
From Mr. Smith (Spanish I):
- All week, Spanish 1 will be learning vocabulary with total physical response
(TPR). Tuesday evening, ask your son/daughter what that means!
From Mr. Falco (Spanish 2):
- We will continue to review Spanish 1 and focus on reviewing salutations,
how to ask simple questions and how to describe objects and people. There
is no major test assigned. Students will be assessed on vocabulary learned
throughout the lesson orally and in writing.
From Ms. Huffman (Latin/Psychology/Yoga):
- Latin 1 is building vocabulary around the house and activities, and is
well into subject/object/verb sentence structures
- The week will include summative exercises on Stage 1 as we move into Stage
2.
From Ms. Heno (French):
- French 1 students will review cognates, francophone countries, the alphabet
and basic pronunciation.
- French 2 will be prepared to say in French what they did over the holiday
and discuss their French city
