CVHS 9th grade email update for April 24th, 2009
General Info:
- TAKS will take place on Tuesday – Friday. 9th graders will take
a practice math TAKS on Tuesday and then some of those students will be
tutored on Wednesday. The actual math TAKS test is on Thursday.
- We had a cancellation on the Australia & New Zealand trip
for this July. If you are interested in going, please email me as soon as
possible.
From Mrs. Bibeau (Theatre & Comm Apps):
From Mr. Swenson (World Geography):
- No assignments for next week. Video shown in class next week leading up
to Friday’s guest speaker.
From Ms. Bullis (English I):
- Research Paper is due Friday, May 1st.
- Literary Term Project is due May 15th.

- We’ll continue with the lesson on Solutions.
- Long term projects that will be assigned are on:

From Mr. Li (Geometry):
- TAKS math Exam for 10th graders is on Tuesday & 9th graders is on
Thursday;
- We will have last review for TAKS on Monday. Please don’t over sleep
& miss the bus;
- The class from Tuesday to Friday will be 20 min. long, it’s preparing
time for exams;
- Sleep longer and eat less might be helpful.
From Mr. Barnes (Algebra I):
- Test Monday (we went over the test review in class on Friday)
- 9th graders will be taking a practice Math TAKS on Tuesday while the 10th
and 11th graders are taking other TAKS tests. I will count this as a grade
and it will also determine if a student is in extra tutorials on Wednesday
while the 10th and 11th graders are testing.
- There is no official homework for Algebra 1 next week. Students should
be preparing for TAKS. They have a TAKS review book and know what objectives
they should be reviewing based on a practice test we took right after Spring
Break.
- The week after TAKS we will start our last unit and I will assign the
last project.

- Students will review past learned material. Also, we will work on warm-ups
throughout the week.
From Ms. Huffman (Latin):
- The Latin 1’s have determined to get the Stage 16 multiple choice
over with on Monday.
- We will have a variety of culture activities centered on Roman Egypt for
the rest of the week
From Ms. Heno (French):
- French 1 is preparing an art project. French 2 is working on the fractured
fairy tale about “Les Visiteurs”.

Health:
- Chapter 6: Managing Weight and Body Composition
- Test on chapter 5
Physical Education:
- Unit: continue on Volley Ball (bring gym cloths everyday)
