CVHS 9th grade email update for April 9th, 2010
General Info:
- AP: No AP Saturday review for 9th graders. Pre-registration and info session
in Advocacy on April 21. Students will be given a personal schedule with
date, time, and room/proctor assignment on 21st.
- Final Exams will take place on May 24-27. On those days there will be
early dismissal at 12:45pm. Students take two exams a day (each 2 hours
long) and then are released from school.
From Mrs. Bibeau (Theatre I):
- Monday – Introduction to stage makeup
- Tuesday – Ben Nye make up application video
- Wednesday - Partner application of standard character (bring your own
brushes, sponge, and cleanser)
- Thursday - Partner application of standard character (bring your own brushes,
sponge, and cleanser)
Friday – Quiz over normal character makeup
- Parents, due to an impending maternity leave beginning later this month,
I have uploaded all expected grades for the cycle on Gradespeed. You and
your students should be able to see every due date through May. Erika Harris
will be teaching my classes when I go on leave and staying in direct correspondence
through the end of the year.

- The contents are the volume and area of Solids, like Prism, Cylinder,
Pyramid, Cone, Sphere, etc;

12.6. #1-11, 12-22(even), 24-27;

* Review of TAKS is 6 min./class each day;

- We are currently working on a unit covering a variety of topics from middle
school that will be on the TAKS test including Pythagorean
- Theorem, perimeter & area of 2-dimensional figures, volume & surface
area of solids, similar figures, ratio & proportion, and probability.
- The next quiz will be on Friday, April 16
- The next test will be on Thursday, April 22
- The project for this cycle will be assigned on Monday

- Latin 1 is in Capitulum 10, Monday’s worksheets will be due 4/19.
- Item, the deadline to request a prepaid registration packet for NJCL is
5/1.

- Span. I: will continue to study Chap. 8B. Reading and written assignments
will be drawn from pgs. 408 - 417.
- Span. II: will continue to study Chap. 9A. Reading and written assignments
will be drawn from pgs. 461 - 470. There will be a quiz over Chap. 8B on
Friday.

- French 1 has a major vocabulary test Tuesday on La Maison and
Au Revoir les Enfants. They must be able to describe in the present
and in the past.
- French 2 has a major vocabulary test Tuesday on Au Revoir les Enfants,
formation and usage of the present participle and the present subjunctive.
