CVHS 9th grade email update for April 9th, 2009
General Info:
- School Holiday : Friday April 10th.
- We had a cancellation on the Australia & New Zealand trip
for this July. If you are interested in going, please email me as soon as

- Quiz over chapters 1-6 from Slaughterhouse-Five – 4/13
- Test over the novel – 4/17

- We will continue doing the following:
- daily observations on the fermentation lab
- lecture and practice exercises with chemical reactions
- 4/11 - Do the quizzes
- 4/13 - You will do “Procedure 2” of the fermentation lab.
Please bring the necessary materials.
- 4/14 – You will be given time in class to build your rockets. Please
bring your materials.
- 4/17 - You will have your test on Chapters 21 and 24. The packets on these
chapters are also due that day.

From Mr. Li (Geometry):
- We will study chapter 12.4-12.7 from Mon. to Wed., Focusing on Volumes
of Prisms, Cylinders, Pyramids and Cones; as well as Spheres and similar
solids;
- We have a chapter 12 review on Thursday;
- Chapter 12 Test is on Friday, 04/17/09;
- All assignments are on the SnapGrades.
From Mr. Barnes (Algebra I):
- Homework due Monday is from the textbook
- Homework for the next two weeks will be handouts
- Quiz on Friday 4/17
- Test on Friday 4/24
From Mr. Smith (Spanish I):
- Students will finish their Pablo Neruda story stars. They will be immediately
graded and returned for students to use to study for a quiz on Neruda and
the Romani. A song from Buena Vista Social Club will be studied and quizzed
on by the end of the week.
From Mr. Falco (Spanish 2):
- We will begin chapter 5B on Monday. Students will have a quiz on Tuesday,
Wednesday, and Thursday over the vocabulary on page 288. We will go over
irregular verbs in the preterite next week as well. Homework and in class
assignments will be used to reinforce learned material.
From Ms. Huffman (Latin):
- The Latin 1’s remain en route to meet King Cogidubnus. Multiple
choice by Friday.
From Ms. Heno (French):
- French 1 is continuing the Art project and French 2 is reviewing in preparation
for their fairy tale.
From Mr. Rodriguez (Art):
- The due date for Art I color project sheets has been extended to next
Wednesday.
From Mr. Lamane and Ms. Terry (P.E.):
Health:
- We will continue working on chapter 4
- Students Projects are due next Wednesday
