CVHS 9th grade email update for February 27th, 2009
General Info:
- RECYCLING: Please bring all paper recycling (we recycle paper, magazines,
phone books, junk mail, etc…) to school and either drop it in the
green and yellow dumpster in the back of the school or ask your child to
bring it to the dumpster or to Mrs. Matsu. In order to keep our wonderful
recycling dumpster, we have to hit our quota. Thanks for helping us. We
take catalogs and magazines!
- ELA TAKS is on Tuesday, March 3rd.
- The CVHS PTO dinner and auction is this Saturday night, February 28. Please

From Mrs. Bibeau (Theatre & Comm Apps):
Theatre Arts I
- Monday - practice characterization of scenes
- Tuesday - 15 minute classes (TAKS)- perfect characterization and blocking
of scenes
- Wednesday - Thursday - perform scenes in front of class with good blocking
and characterization
- Friday - finish performances if needed, learn large group ensemble techniques
Communications Applications
- Monday - work on developing powerpoint in library - using advanced tools
- Tuesday - 15 minute classes (TAKS) - troubleshoot powerpoint problems
in class
- Wednesday - work on developing powerpoint in library - using advanced
tools
- Thursday - Friday - critique powerpoint shows in class
From Mr. Swenson (World Geography):

- 2 genetics worksheets were assigned on Friday, they are due Monday.

- 3/02-03 – Work with Product labels
- 3/04-05 – Chapter 22 lessons and worksheets
- 3/06 – Neon Art projects due. We will also be doing the ice cream
lab this day; you should have at least 2 baggies with you. If you volunteered
to bring supplies, please have them ready by Wednesday at the latest (and
thank you!).
- Reminder that you have quizzes to do on the following dates: 2/28 (Chapter
16) and 3/07 (Chapter 22).

- We will study 10.2-10.4 from Mon. To Wed.,
Focusing on measures of arcs, chords and Inscribed figures;
- Classes on Tuesday has only 20 min. long for TAKS exam;
- Review for 10.1—10.4 is on Thursday;
- Quiz for 10.1—10.4 is on Friday;
- All assignments are on the Snapgrades.
From Mr. Barnes (Algebra I):
- Test over Chapter 9 is on Monday
- We went over the test review in class Friday
- I gave the students some additional challenging practice problems for
the test at the end of class
- I will post the key to the test review and the additional problems on
snapgrades by the end of the day Friday
From Mr. Smith (Spanish I):
- Next week will be for general review of this 9 weeks. Students need to
continue spending time at home reading aloud! Please monitor this for me.
Please continue to contact me with any questions about your kids. I look

From Mr. Falco (Spanish 2):
- We will have a test over chapter 4B on Monday. Tuesday we will be reviewing
past grammar and culture points. We will begin chapter 5A on Wednesday.
There will be a vocabulary quiz on Thursday and Friday for chapter 5A. We
will also have a new song, and the students will have a song quiz on Friday.
From Ms. Huffman (Latin):
- Latin 1 will have the Stage 13 multiple choice no later than Friday.

Health:
- Continue working on the work sheets on Chapter 10/11

relationships, Marriage, divorce)

FPF:
- Students should start working on their research projects, so they can be
ready to present it in class. All assignments are due after Spring Break
- All topics are Athletics/sports related.
