CVHS 9th grade email update for February 12th, 2010
General Info:
- Valentine’s Day Dance TONIGHT from 7-11pm in the CVHS Cafeteria.
$5 at the door.
- NO SCHOOL on Monday, February 15th.
- From Dr. Gewinner: 9th graders are expected to take the AP Geography exam
for the experience and hopefully, college credit. Forms go home this week
and are due by March 5.
- Mrs. Matsu is sponsoring two summer international trips. Both
trips are currently accepting students and parents. The day you sign
up locks in the price.

on my website. These are tentative.
- Class is introduced to new play and continues to read in class.
- Students will be separated into large groups to work on this scene &
scene analysis.

- We will begin reading Romeo and Juliet. Much of the reading will

version as well for any at-home reading that will need to be done.

- Thursday has a review for 9.4-9.5;

From Mr. Barnes (Algebra I):
- We are currently in Chapter 8
- The next quiz is next Wednesday 2/17
- The project for this grading cycle will be assigned next week.
- The next test will either be on Monday 2/22 or Tuesday 2/23
From Mr. Beall (Spanish I & II):
- Span. I will continue to work on Chap. 6B. Various reading and written
work will be assigned from pgs.308 - 314. There will be a quiz on Chap.
6B on Friday.
- Span. II will take a quiz on Chap. 5B on Tuesday. They will then begin
Chap. 6A. Various reading and written work will be assigned from pgs. 292
- 304. They will take a test on Chap. 5A & B on Friday.
From Ms. Huffman (Latin):
- Latin 1, after dealing with the aftermath of JCL Region A, will conclude
Capitulum 7 and continue into Capitulum 8.
- Item, the registration deadline for JCL State is March 1. Pending lodging
confirmation, etc., we are projecting a cost of $75 based on a single overnight
in Austin .
From Ms. Heno (French):
- French 1 and 2 students will complete their projects this week.
From Ms. Casperson (Debate):
- Student Response Journal due every Friday.
From Ms. Harris (Communication Applications):
- They will have their mock job interview this week. The dress is business
casual and they were informed on what this means. They are to bring their
final resume on their interview date. Please be sure they are practicing
and prepping for their interview as it is a major grade. They will be advised
on how to do this.
