From Ms. Bullis and Ms. Harris (English I):
Ms. Bullis
- Graphic Novel Project is due Monday 2/8! (Originally assigned 1/8)
1. The visual needs to be turned in before the 1st period bell.
2. The essay needs to be turned in to www.turnitin.com by 11:59 p.m. Monday
evening.
- Please have a copy of Romeo and Juliet and start bringing it
to class Friday 2/12!
- Refer to class website for additional information www.freewebs.com/hbullis
Ms. Harris
- It is of extreme importance that your child is working on their graphic
novel essay, presentation, and visual this weekend. The essay is due to
turnitin.com no later than Monday @ 11:59 p.m. No exceptions. They are encouraged
to be finished by Sunday, so if they experience computer problems they can
submit it at school. They will also need to bring me a hard copy no later
than Tuesday. Their visual/any presentation material is also due in class
on Monday.
- We will begin “Romeo and Juliet” next week. There is a copy
in the literature textbook, which I will have them keep in class. I highly
recommend getting a paperback copy as well so they don’t have to lug
their textbook home in case they need to catch up on reading. Any paperback
copy is fine as long as the original text is there and not just a translated
or modernized version.
- Finally, we will be reading Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughterhouse Five
beginning in April, so you can begin looking for the book now.
- I highly encourage you to contact me if you have questions/concerns about
your child’s progress in the class at harris.cvhs@gmail.com
or Eharri10@houstonisd.org.
I also highly encourage you to visit our class website http://ewharris.freewebs.com.
I try to post as much information as possible about what we are doing, what
is up and coming, as well as information about individual assignments and
projects.
- The class website is up and running: http://ewharris.webs.com/
