From Mrs. Bibeau (Theatre I):
- We will begin reading full length plays that appear on the AP exams
- 2nd Period – Hedda Gabler
- 4th Period - A Streetcar Named Desire
- 6th Period – Zoot Suit
- This unit is designed to allow students to investigate character through
performance while using some analytical strategies from English and History
classes.

- Thursday and Friday we will work on a class group project.
- They will have a test on chapter 8 the following week after the review

Ms. Harris
- The students will continue learning how to analyze poetry--its forms and
functions. They will be assigned poems to read (almost) every night and
they are to be annotating those poems in order to discuss them the next
day.
- There will be random checks done throughout the unit to ensure the students
are annotating. Each check will be a homework grade. An "Annotation
Guide" to help them is on the class website under "Assignments".
- They have been provided with an example of what I expect for both their
annotations as well as their Poetry Journal.
Dates to Know:
Wed. 1/27: Vocabulary Quiz on tone words (the list can be found
on the class website and they should have a copy)
Thur. 2/4: Poetry Journal due. If they would like to turn it in before then,
they are encouraged to do so. This will be counted as a quiz grade.

- Students received a test review in class on Friday 1/22. The test review
is due on Monday 1/25.
- The test over Chapter 6 is on Tuesday 1/26.
- On Wednesday we will be starting Chapter 7.
From Mr. Beall (Spanish I & II):
- Span. I: will finish watching the Frida Kahlo movie on Monday (historical,
political, and cultural aspects discussed). We will then resume working
on Chap. 5B. Various reading and written homeworks will be assigned from
pgs. 258 - 265. There will be a quiz on Chap. 5B on Thursday. We will then
begin Chap. 6A (pgs. 270 - 277).
- Span. II: will finish watching the Frida Kahlo movie on Monday (historical,
political, and cultural aspects discussed). We will then resume working
on Chap. 4B. Various reading and written homeworks will be assigned from
pgs. 228 - 231. There will be a quiz on Chap. 4B on Wednesday. We will then

From Ms. Huffman (Latin):
- Latin 1 has the Capitulum 5 worksheet due on Tuesday. We are in Capitulum
6 and will do oral work and enrichment topics for the 3 days of testing.
- Those attending Region A Competition on 2/13, $20 registration is due
by Friday 1/22. Please make checks payable to Dawson High School
From Ms. Heno (French):
- All levels will begin the Mask project and training for the National French
Contest.
From Ms. Casperson (Debate):
- Student Response Journal due every Friday.
From Ms. Harris (Communication Applications):
- The students will continue to analyze group processes and dynamics. There
will be a test over all we have covered up to this point on Friday 1/29.
Students have been encouraged daily to be taking notes as the test will
be drawn off of in-class lectures, discussions, and assignments. If they
have been actively listening and taking notes they will be able to study
more effectively.
- The next unit will be resumes and job interviews. Please be aware: students
will have to dress in business casual attire for some dates in the upcoming
unit and this will be part of their grade. Those dates will be announced
soon.
