From Ms. Bullis and Ms. Harris (English I):
Ms. Bullis
- Students need to print out the poetry packet from the class website and
start bringing it to class on 1/15.
- The Graphic Novel project has been assigned. Students need to obtain the
graphic novel they chose with their partner and start reading. The project
is due 2/8.
- Vocabulary has been assigned and can be found on the class website. The
quiz is on 1/27.

Ms. Harris
- Next week the students will be introduced to poetry concepts through analyzing
music/song lyrics.
- This weekend they are responsible for completing their vocabulary word
wall assignment and it will be due Monday 1/11.
- The students will be given a poetry packet this Friday and as we will
be working from the packet for the next several weeks it is important that
they do not lose it and bring it with them every day.
- The students will also be assigned a project dealing with graphic novels.
They are responsible for choosing a graphic novel from a provided list and
also for acquiring that novel in order to conduct the project.

- Karyotype Lab: karyotypes will be handed out on Monday and must be finished
by Tuesday. They will be used in class and then turned in on Tuesday.

- We will study Chapter 7.3-7.5 Mon. to Wed.;
- Focusing on Geometric Mean, special right triangles
And tangent ratio;

7.5. #1, 4-30(even).
Assignment will be checked on the next class.
- Thursday has a review and Friday has a quiz for 7.3-7.5.
From Mr. Barnes (Algebra I):
- We are currently working through Chapter 6 in the book. Our first test
of the semester won't be for a few weeks though because the district is
sending me out of town to a training for a few days next week and the following
week is Stanford testing. Our first test will be the week of January 25
(either on the 25th or the 26th).
From Mr. Beall (Spanish I & II):
- Spanish I: Will continue to work on Chap. 5A (pgs. 232 - 241). There will
be a quiz over this material on Wednesday (1/13). We will then begin to
work on Chap. 5B (pgs. 247 - 257). Various reading and written homework
will be assigned.
- Spanish II: We will have a quiz over Chap. 4A on Monday. Syllabication
and the rules of tildes (diacritical accent marks) will be studied from
a handout to be provided. On Wednesday we will begin to work on Chap. 4B
(pgs. 210 - 223). VArious reading and written homework wil be assigned.
From Ms. Huffman (Latin):
- Latin 1’s have weekend homework to re-read Capitulum 5. Vocabulary
test Monday. We will be in Capitulum 6 later this week.
- This is a reminder that Latinistas have Standing Homework every day: to
spend 15 minutes in the evening reviewing that day’s work –
OUT LOUD with your lips moving.
- JCL meeting Wednesday at lunch, we will have Convention matters to discuss.
