CVHS 9th grade email update for October 30th, 2009
General Info:

- Gradespeed: Gradespeed is currently showing the first cycle and semester
average. It is not showing the second cycle average. This is causing some
confusion because the semester average doesn’t seem to make sense.
We hope that the second cycle grades will be visible to the parent/student
at login on Monday or Tuesday.
- Mrs. Matsu is sponsoring two summer international trips. Both trips are
currently accepting students and parents. The day you sign up locks
in the price. Prices will go up November 1.
- Fall Harvest Dance
When: Friday, October 30th - TONIGHT!
Where: cafegymalocketorium
Time: 7-11 pm
$3 before event
$5 at the door
- We want the students to wear their best costumes!
- There will be prizes, music, and much more!

From Mrs. Matsu and Ms. Alcoriza (Biology):
- We are currently in a biochemistry unit in Biology. It is a difficult
subject and students should be reviewing the material nightly.
- Lab on Monday and Friday. Students should read the lab and wear appropriate
clothing and shoes.
- Please READ the lab before Monday. Ms. Alcoriza’s class: she
has put the lab on her website for you to view!
- Newspaper Wednesday article review due Wednesday, November 11th. (note
the change if you are in Matsu ’s period 1-6, I made a mistake on
the board)

- We will be finishing chapter 4 next week. There will be a test review
given out Friday, which will be due on Monday.

They will then begin Chap. 3B. Various readings and written exercises will
be assigned.
